ICAD named master system integrator for India’s Noida Airport project

ICAD will also lead the core airport systems implementation and integration.

Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) created for the development of the greenfield Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, India, has finalised the choice of ICAD Holding as Master System Integrator (MSI) consultant for the development of NIA.

Under this contract, ICAD will provide various services to the airport, including systems integration design, integration programme management, and integration of ICT and Airport Systems.

It will also be responsible for leading the core airport systems implementation and integration.

YIAPL CEO Christoph Schnellmann said: “We are pleased to partner with ICAD to bring alive our vision of a digital airport.

“NIA will be a truly modern, efficient and customer-friendly airport, offering the highest levels of convenience and ease of making connections to the passengers as well as commercial benefits to its partners.

“The digital greenfield airport will enable contactless travel experience and cost-efficient operations for all airport partners.”

NIA will be equipped with technology that will facilitate a seamless and ‘mostly contactless’ flow.

It will also feature integrated systems and technologies, including indoor navigation, data analytics and passenger flow management.

The digital ecosystem established at the airport will involve paperless digital processing across all checkpoints.

The move is said to align with the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation’s DigiYatra Policy.

ICAD Group CEO Ghassan Sayegh said: “We at ICAD will work closely with NIA to deliver India’s most advanced, integrated and eco-sustainable airport – the 45th Airport Project that ICAD has undertaken, globally – opening our window of opportunity to offer our expertise and services to the East.

“In due course of time, we look forward to more awards with NIA and other airports in India. In the capacity of a MSI Consultant, we hope to support NIA with the systems integration design, programme management, and integration of ICT and Airport Systems within the airport.”

Last August, YIAPL received final approval for NIA’s master plan.

Earlier this month, TATA Projects obtained an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the project.
